Job Description Location: Central Office - 123 Robert S Kerr Ave, OKC
Salary: up to $46,830.00, based on education and experience
Full Time /Part Time: Full Time
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Primary Hours: 8-5
Position Description: The Syphilis Reactor Desk is responsible for the processing of syphilis results reported to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH). This involves reviewing laboratory reports for completeness, communicating with healthcare providers and monitoring syphilis for possible new infections, reinfection, treatment failure, adequate treatment, or record closure. Resolve issues related to data quality, quality assurance, and evaluation of syphilis.
Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions: - Initiates syphilis cases for field investigations for the entire state of Oklahoma.
- Conduct provider and/or laboratory follow-up on information that is missing, incomplete or inaccurate.
- Conduct provider follow-up on persons of childbearing age to determine pregnancy status.
- Process laboratory results via Oklahoma’s surveillance system as well as routinely received electronic syphilis results (i.e. CPL, RML, etc.)
- Assist with resolving issues found during syphilis quality assurance (QA) processes.
- Trains other staff on syphilis data entry and follow-up.
- Develops and maintains confidential and complex files.
- Interprets and advice on internal and external customers on departmental or program rules, regulations, and laws.
- Serve as a backup in initiating syphilis cases for interstate notification.
- Assist the STI Reactor desk with QA as needed.
- Being present at the office is an essential function of the job.
- Other duties as assigned.
Other Duties - Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

Minimum Qualifications: At least 5 years of technical clerical office work or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in processing electronic applications is required.

- Must be capable of communicating corrective action for program adherence with outside partners in a professional manner to maintain business relationships and improve effectiveness of application processes.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Being present at the office is an essential function of the job. Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Employees must be willing to complete all job-related travel associated with this position.
