Job Summary
Performs the functions related to Accounts Payable for Bryan Texas Utilities ( BTU ), ensuring all invoices are properly coded, approved, and paid promptly in compliance with BTU policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions

• Receives, date stamps, codes, and enters all BTU invoices into the accounting system.
• Routes invoices for proper approvals and ensures that they are promptly reviewed and approved for timely payment.
• Processes the weekly payment run and ensures that all postings are accurately captured in the accounting system.
• Maintains the BTU Corporate Accounts Payable Files.
• Is the first point of contact for all applicable vendors, including obtaining tax identification and issuing BTU’s tax exempt information as needed.
• Prepares and files the annual 1099 tax forms.
• Provides special reports on various vendors and/or projects as needed.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Responds regularly and promptly to work.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus at least two (2) years of finance, accounting, banking, bookkeeping, billing, or similar work experience; OR an Associate’s degree with major course work in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with at least (1) year of related work experience as previously listed.

Equivalent combinations of related education, experience, certification, and training may also be considered.

Licenses, Certifications & Special Requirements
Texas Class C driver’s license with a good driving record as measured by the City’s evaluation system.

Salary:

$18.00-$22.00/hour (depending on qualifications)
