Job DescriptionWage Agency Instructor - Region 3 Law Extension $45.00 per hour Temporary/Casual StaffTelecommuter - TEEX Region 3 (Map) The Role at a GlanceThis Wage Agency Instructor is responsible for providing training for
the Extension Program (Law) anywhere in the state of Texas, primarily in Region 3, and may perform online and/or classroom instruction, field-based skills training, and/or provide technical assistance in a specialty area. The instructor will utilize their knowledge of adult learning theories and learning styles to help maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of the course instruction. This position may perform online and classroom instruction, field-based skills training, and provide technical assistance in a specialty area. They will use a variety of media to present course material. The instructor will assist in creating new and/or updating curriculum content, when necessary, to meet learner’s needs.We are looking to build a statewide network of instructors, so this position requires residency within the region.
The instructor will report to the Agency Regional Manager.
Qualifications of the Role - High School Diploma or GED.
- Four years commissioned as a Texas peace officer.
- Two years of teaching experience.
- Must have a TCOLE Basic Instructor Certificate/ Proficiency.
- Must have a current Texas peace officer's license.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Equivalency: Will consider a bachelor’s degree in a law enforcement related field or an associate’s degree in a law enforcement related field and two years commissioned as a Texas peace officer. Must also have two years of teaching experience.
