Job Description:
Performs semi-skilled work in the operation of moderately complex construction/maintenance equipment. An employee in this class is responsible for performing tasks of average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. Tasks, at times, are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are required to exercise some initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED; one (1) year of experience in the operation of assigned equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions. Florida Commercial Driver's License Class A, B or C, with tanker endorsement, may be required prior to employment depending on equipment operated by the position. Some positions require Aquatic, Right-of-Way, and restricted Pesticide Licenses prior to employment

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
