Two (2) IT Services Specialist positions are available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions' Asset Management Division. The Asset Management team is responsible for overseeing all software and computer-related hardware assets. This includes collaborating with departments to ensure hardware and software remain current, minimizing the risk of outdated systems, and preventing unauthorized or unmanaged assets from appearing on the network. The primary focus of this role is Inventory Management, which encompasses receiving, deployment, distribution, disposal, equipment handling, and warehouse operations.
Minimum Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of customer service experience and/or administrative experience in computer science, information technology or related field
- Valid Driver's License
- Candidate selected for hire must pass a CJIS background check (see below for details)
Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in IT Asset management Life-cycle Management
- Proficiency in Warehouse / Logistics Asset & Inventory Tracking
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Products
- The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross functional teams & vendors
- Working knowledge of ITSM/ITAM concepts and practices
The IT Services Specialist's job responsibilities include: - Daily communications with end-users related to service requests for hardware/software
- Track orders and maintain good status updates in our Asset Management System
- Receive hardware and maintain warehouse inventory stock levels
- Operating a pallet jack, dolly or other asset handling equipment to transport assets.
- Update and maintain hardware assets in our Asset Management System
- Asset Tracking using various tools
- Data sanitization of EOL assets and preparing for disposal
- E-Waste Vendor coordination, tracking and reporting
- Drive city vehicle for deliveries and/or pickups
- Assist with various team projects and tasks
Working Conditions and
Physical Demands Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.
Light Work - depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
