Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm; Some evening/weekend work required. Hybrid on-site work model available with supervisory approval; staff are required to be on-site at least 2 days per week (this is non-negotiable).

An IT Solutions Architect position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions' Platform Technologies Division (Infrastructure Team). This Architect position is responsible for designing and guiding the overall architecture of enterprise technology solutions, ensuring they align with organizational strategy and business objectives. They evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and platforms to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient systems. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders across business, development, and operations teams to translate requirements into practical, sustainable designs. The IT Architect will also set standards, best practices, and governance models to ensure interoperability and long-term maintainability.

Specifically, this person will need to have understanding and command of: SAN/NAS architectures, storage protocols (iSCSI, NFS, SMB, Fibre Channel); enterprise storage platforms (e.g., Pure Storage, Dell EMC), hypervisors such as VMware vSphere/ESXi; Backup platforms (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity); Active Directory Domain/forest design, replication, and trust relationships; integration with authentication/authorization systems (Kerberos, NTLM, Entra Connect).

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
