ABOUT THE POSITION

There is one vacancy for an IT Innovation Manager in the Innovative Digital Solutions Division.

The IT Innovation Manager will build, mentor, and support a high-performing IT team that embraces innovation, collaboration, and service excellence. They provide strategic direction, identify high-impact challenges, and oversee pilot projects from design through evaluation. In partnership with the Office of the County Executive (OCE) and other stakeholders, this position delivers agile, high-value projects that advance organizational priorities.

The IT Innovation Manager leads the County’s “Digital First” strategy by reimagining and digitizing services and processes. They partner with departments to design and optimize digital solutions that improve accessibility, efficiency, and constituent experience, while also identifying, piloting, and scaling AI and emerging technology solutions to enhance County outcomes. A key responsibility is driving organization-wide adoption of Microsoft 365 collaboration tools and embedding them into daily operations to strengthen communication, productivity, and service delivery.

This position performs full supervisory duties, including determining work assignments and schedules, hiring and mentoring staff, motivating team members, and conducting performance planning, management, and evaluations.

Remote Work Options: Some duties for this position may be performed remotely and options for a hybrid (remote/onsite) work schedule are available. However, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for various meetings and work assignments upon short notice, as needed, and when deemed appropriate.

The Minimum Requirements are:

Any eight-year combination of recent professional experience and relevant coursework that demonstrates the necessary knowledge and abilities. A typical way of achieving these requirements would be graduation with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program with major coursework in computer science or a related field and four years of work experience related to the assignment. Education and experience must be related to the area of assignment.
