DEPUTY COUNTY ATTORNEY

or SENIOR ASSISTANT COUNTY ATTORNEY

The Albemarle County Attorney’s Office is seeking an experienced attorney to join its dedicated team of legal professionals. Beautiful Albemarle County is one of the most attractive and desirable locations in Virginia, with excellent schools and a wide range of cultural, historic, and recreational activities.

The successful applicant will have:
A degree from an accredited law school and Virginia State Bar membership;At least eight years’ experience as a practicing attorney (or six years’ experience to qualify as a Senior Assistant), largely in the practice of local government law; andExperience or demonstrated competency in civil litigation.
Experience with or demonstrated knowledge of economic development and/or conservation easements is preferred. Virginia residency is required upon employment.

The position offered will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s experience and qualifications.

Hiring Salary Range for Deputy County Attorney: $134,752- $148,936 annually, depending on experience.

Hiring Salary Range for Senior Assistant County Attorney: $115,529 - $127,689 annually, depending on experience.
