ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Fire Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Senior Management Analyst position. This position will develop and make public presentations on community preparedness; develop Incident Action Plans and Incident Support Plans for planned events and emergency incidents; develop exercises using the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP); and follow grant guidance and reporting requirements. Activating as a member of the County Emergency Operations Center (EOC)/Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC) may be necessary in the event of a large scale preplanned special event or an emergency. This may serve to disrupt, alter, revise, or totally change all previously established work performance standards, requiring 100% of the time, until the event or emergency is over or until such a time as the Emergency Manager demobilizes the functions of the EOC/MACC. Perform as the Assistant Emergency Manager and act at the Emergency Manager in their absence. Perform duties of the Operations Chief, Planning Chief, or Recovery Coordinator in the MACC during activation. Write and coordinate investment justifications for Homeland Security grants; assist with grant reporting as needed. Assist with training and exercises for the Clark County Office of Emergency Management. Coordinate with departments, agencies, and jurisdictions to complete emergency management related plans; including but not limited to continuity of operations, hazard mitigation, emergency operations, IAPs and the THIRA.

This position could also be subject to shift work that includes nights, evenings, and weekends.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

This position is partially grant funded. Grant funded positions are subject to continuation based on availability of grant funds and the employee will be terminated without right of appeal when such funds are no longer available.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree with major course work in Business or Public Administration or a related field, AND four (4) years of full-time professional experience in performing administrative, budgetary, operational or similar analyses and studies. Professional level experience that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis up to two (2) years. Experience in a public agency setting and project or programmatic lead experience is desirable.

Licensing and Certification: Specified positions may be required to possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment.
