Position DescriptionThe Technical Trainer is both an experienced educator in professional settings as well as a technical expert of their field. This role will require a significant amount of research in growing trends of their area of expertise, as well as trends in talent development and adult education in professional settings. They will need to be quick on their feet to adapt and change directions with the needs of the industry, the department they support, or the measured and defined needs of the institution. From research, development, measurement, and improvement, the Technical Trainer takes on the full responsibility of the value, retention, and clearly defined success metrics of their curriculums.
Major/Essential Functions- Designs and delivers high-quality training to new and existing users on system workflows, tools, and best practices-tailored to both clinical and non-clinical roles.
- Develops and maintains educational materials, including scripts, presentations, job aids, and reference guides, aligned with adult learning principles and institutional standards.
- Conducts in-person and virtual training sessions, including New Employee Orientation (NEO), refresher training, and on-demand coaching.
- Provides in-clinic support (at-the-elbow) by assisting front desk staff, nurses, providers, and support teams to reinforce training and troubleshoot system-related issues.
- Participates in rotation schedules for both training delivery and clinic rounding to ensure ongoing support and coverage across departments.
- Reports weekly findings during team huddles, identifies common issues or needs across clinics, and collaborates with fellow trainers on solutions and improvements.
- Conducts observation-based studies to collect data on workflows, user experience, and process efficiency, and compiles findings into actionable reports.
- Supports major system initiatives related to projects by ensuring accurate and timely data entry, training alignment, and process adherence.
- Collaborates with leadership and analysts to ensure system access and training assignments are appropriate for all user roles across the organization.

Bachelor's degree with 2 years of training experience in a technical or clinical setting; OR a combination of education and/or training experience to equal 6 years.
