Family & Children Medicaid - Eligibility Team Lead

What You'll Be DoingWake County is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Eligibility Team Lead to join our Family & Children Medicaid team! If you have experience in case management, program assistance, and leading teams, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. This role is part of the Review Section within the Economic Services Division, where each team includes a supervisor and 8-10 eligibility caseworkers.
Daily responsibilities include:
- Provide guidance and day-to-day support to both new and experienced FCMA eligibility staff
- Assist with questions related to policy interpretation, case processing, and use of systems such as NCFAST
- Support the team with complex cases and technical troubleshooting
- Run, review, and analyze Data Warehouse, NCFAST, and NCTRACKS reports
- Work with supervisors and the Program Manager to assign and manage daily and monthly tasks
- Collaborate with the Program Staff Development Section to identify training needs and assist with classroom and lab instruction
- Help create and lead On-the-Job Training (OJT) for new team members
- Perform quality assurance audits to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Maintain a caseload, including managing vacant and specialized cases
- Serve as a hearing officer for local Medicaid hearings

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Associate's degree in Human Services or a related field
- Two years of job-related experience
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Current experience within the last two (2) years determining eligibility and providing case management for any of the following Economic Services Programs provided by a State or County Department of Social Services/Human Services - Family and/or Adult Medicaid or Work First
- Experience as a mentor, lead worker, team leader, or supervisor
- Spanish language skills are preferred but not required
