WTE Truck Driver
Description
Responsible for daily hauling and pick-up of recycling drop boxes throughout county locations.
Enjoy a Monday through Friday 7a-3p work schedule!
CDL RequiredLoad and haul recycling items throughout various locations adhering to pick-up schedule.Keep work area and loader cab clean and orderly.Maintain accurate records of quantities hauled, etc.Perform and document daily inspection of truck, loader, trailer, and request preventative maintenance as needed.Assist, as needed, with incinerator maintenance such as boiler cleaning.Available for relief loader operator as needed.Available for relief ash truck hauling and recycling center duties.Haul glass and lime as needed.Safely operate truck in hauling and returning drop boxes from various locations throughout the County as directed.Receive incoming recyclables and maintain necessary records.Keep work area clean.Ensure quality control of processed material.Operate baler and maintain orderly storage of baled material.Perform and document daily inspection of recycling truck, and request preventative maintenance as needed.Assist in performing recycling center maintenance as needed.Perform all duties in accordance with safety policies.Assist, as needed, with incinerator maintenance such as boiler cleaning.Other duties as directed by the Supervisor or the Assistant Plant Manager.
High school diploma or equivalent with two or more years of related experience preferred. Possess and maintain valid Wisconsin Driver's License and Commercial Driver's license. Considerable knowledge of facility operation, servicing and maintenance along with safety precautions necessary to avoid accidents or property damage.
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of facility, equipment and machinery including lifting and loading capacities and proper loading techniques.
- Knowledge of safety rules and ability to utilize Personal Protective Equipment.
- Ability to safely operate truck, equipment/machines in accordance with industry guidelines.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with the public.
- Ability to take control of situations in a responsible manner.
- Ability to work as a member of a team and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to comprehend, retain and apply County, State, and Federal policies and legislation, i.e. local ordinances, procedure manuals, SDS sheets, safety manuals; and warning labels.
- Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and understand and carry out instructions received in writing or verbally.
- Ability to maintain regular, reliable, prompt and predictable on-site job attendance.
- Ability to work allocated hours which may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to skillfully and lawfully operate designated equipment/ vehicles at all times duties are performed.
