Job Announcement

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining their team as a Library Page (part-time, temporary without benefits) at the Basha Library. The position requires a flexible work schedule, Monday through Saturday, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Chandler Public Library inspires intellectual discovery, creative entertainment, and life-long learning through robust information resources that connect communities to a world of k knowledge and new ideas. As a system of four libraries in all geographic areas of the community, and collection of nearly 500,000 books, DVDs, CDs and a wide variety of digital resources, we bring people, information, and ideas together to read, learn, connect, and succeed. Our libraries continuously reflect on the current and emerging needs of patrons and choose to advance literacy and champion inclusive learning experience for all people by fostering accessibility and embracing new technology.

Who we are looking for

Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for someone shelve library materials and assist patrons with locating library materials; assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the library common areas.

Minimum Qualifications

• Some High School; and

• Experience performing basic clerical and customer service work; or

• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in a library setting with an automated library system.

This is a regular part-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
