Description
RequirementsMOS Codes: 62E1C (Air Force) 94F (Army) 6203 (Navy) Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university with major course work in graphic design or related field and (2) years professional experience related to computer graphics using HTML programming, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), XML, Front Page and CuteFTP, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXpress, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word software in a Windows NT and/or Mac OS X network operating environment.
Licenses and Certificates : Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License or equivalent from another state.
General PurposeUnder direction, design and produce computer generated graphics for publishing, multi-media, photography, video and web based driven applications and interfaces.
Typical Duties - Operate computer graphics workstation and audio visual equipment utilizing a wide variety of software and multi-media applications; provide general computer graphics assistance to staff, contractors, and outside agencies, to coordinate the production and quality control management for all computer generated graphics materials.
- Serve as liaison between various internal departments and Web Developer and collaborate with Web Developer to create, publish and maintain informational and interactive documents for web use by providing content such as electronic copy and images.
- Update web site content using web based programs in order to keep information current and serve as backup to Web Developer.
- Create graphics designs to develop and implement high quality, innovative products.
- Provide technical support in production of Public Service Board audio/video presentations.
- Participate in developing and implementing procedural standards for web activity and administrative controls for site utilization.
- Provide technical input related to procurement of computer graphics equipment and supplies. Troubleshoot system hardware and software associated with position functions. Facilitate communication and specification for off-site printhouse production of media using utility source files.
- Provide aesthetic and technical direction and best-suited mediums for computer generated visual communications and web site development such as; graphs, charts, drawings, exhibits and photographs used in presentations, publications, multi-media and public information releases.
- Act as project leader or computer graphics designer for complex multimedia presentations such as web site development and/or presentations.
- Perform computerized scanning, color corrections, photo retouching, digital cleanup of images, creation of vectorized images and presentations for web and/or print use.
- Prepare and maintain electronic and hard copies of project documents to comply with state laws.
- Oversee supply inventory control, reordering and maintenance of computer graphics equipment to maintain optimum level of materials and peripheral equipment for all users.
- Supervise assigned employees. Involves: Assign, schedule, guide and monitor work. Appraise employee performance and review appraisals by subordinate supervisors. Provide for staff training and development. Counsel, motivate and maintain harmony. Identify and resolve staff differences, conflicts and deficiencies. Interview applicants. Recommend hiring, termination, transfers, discipline, merit pay or other employee status changes. Enforce personnel rules and regulations and work behavior standards firmly and impartially.
- Arrange or attend meetings involving consultation with executive staff.

$54,500.00 - $83,640.00 Annually
