The Marin County Free Library (MCFL) is a special taxing district that operates ten branch libraries in Marin under the authority of the Board of Supervisors. It provides public library services to the residents of the unincorporated areas of the County and the cities of Corte Madera, Fairfax and Novato.

ABOUT THE POSITION

WebStars is a paid youth internship program in Marin County. Founded in 1999 at the Marin City Library, the program now provides hands-on training and work experience at three locations, South Novato, West Marin and Marin City.

South Novato Library/The Shop

Interns working at the South Novato Library will be working exclusively in our creative maker space known as the Shop. There they will be assisting the public with their projects. Patrons range in all ages from youth to adults and have a variety of projects in terms of style, and difficulty. Interns are responsible for helping patrons use the space effectively and safely. This includes knowing how to use the tools so they can teach patrons to do so on their own. The Shop can often be a loud and dirty environment with wood, paints, tools and so on. Interested applicants can expect those working conditions.

Interns will be responsible for:

West Marin Location

Point Reyes Interns will work with library staff and patrons in and outside of our library providing a mix of library-related services.

Marin City Library


We are currently hiring for one West Marin position. The list established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancies, as well as future vacancies that arise while the list is valid, a minimum of 6 months.

Our Highly Qualified Candidate:

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must be enrolled in a high school academic or vocational curriculum or be within one year of having graduated.

Applicants under 18 years of age must secure a work permit from their high school district before being employed.
