Full-time position available with the Finance Department, Administration Division located at 414 E. 12th Street
Salary Range: $8,140-$12,210/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. *Telework schedule available 1 day a week after 6-month probationary period completed

Responsibilities
- Prepares and administers the City's $2.5 billion operating and capital budget.
- Monitors and reports on the current budget including required quarterly reporting and overseeing budget transfers.
- Oversees the development and tracking of goals, objectives and strategies for the Citywide Business Plan.
- Manages the preparation of the five-year financial plan.
- Reviews the financial implications of City policies and programs and provides advice to management and elected officials.
- Prepares the five-year Capital Improvements Plan including the coordination of the activities of the Public Improvements Advisory Committee (PIAC).
- Provides staff support to the Capital Improvements Program Technical Committee.
- Coordinates public engagement activities designed to seek resident input.
- Ensures all ordinances are in compliance with financial policies.
- Supervises maintenance of the City's budget and performance management system, OpenGov.
- Oversees the implementation of the City's Priority Based Budgeting initiative, which will allow the City to allocate funding based on the needs of the community.
- Forecasts City revenues in collaboration with the Commissioner of Revenue and uses economic and trend analysis.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Master's degree in public or business administration, finance, accounting, or related field, and six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in public or business administration, including three (3) years supervisory experience at the level of Senior Analyst or higher; OR Accredited Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, finance, accounting, or related field, and eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in public or business administration, including three (3) years supervisory experience at the level of Senior Analyst or higher.
Preference given to those who possess one of the following: GFOA Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) or ICMA Credentialed Manager (CM). Other Information

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
