Overview

The Office of Emergency Management is hiring a Grant Project Specialist to support the coordination, implementation, and administration of local, state, and federal grant-funded projects. This position plays a vital role in ensuring timely, compliant, and effective project execution that supports community resilience and emergency preparedness.

This position will be working with a variety of partners who will have varying schedules. Typical work week would be from M-F during workdays, but flexibility will be needed for nights and weekend activities when required. Occasional travel to meeting sites is required. Mileage is reimbursable and county vehicle is available.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

• Coordinating and facilitating grant project meetings and activities with internal teams and external partners.
  
• Monitoring project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
  
• Preparing financial reimbursement packages and project progress reports.
  
• Maintaining accurate documentation for all grant-related and project-specific activities.
  
• Supporting the development of materials and communications that track and share project updates.
  
• Assisting with post-disaster recovery tasks and other administrative functions related to grant operations.

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education, from an accredited college or university with a degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field required. Equivalency is based on one (1) year of professional experience equaling one year of college work.
• Three (3) years of experience in research or public administration, including experience in grant administration, grant management, grant coordination, obtaining funding for grants projects and programs, and grant writing required. One (1) year of professional experience may be equivalent to a combination of education and experience.
• Possess reliable transportation to be able to work at various locations as needed and required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Supplemental Information

This is a limited-term position. Individuals hired into limited-term positions are eligible for County benefits. However, the position is limited in duration, dependent upon available funding or business need.

An offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of required pre-employment checks or testing.
