The City of Irvine seeks an experienced professional looking to join the Risk Management and Training and Development team as a Management Analyst I. The Analysts will actively engage and lead various programs within their respective division. Management Analyst I (C) “Safety Officer” - $74,776.00 - $117,582.40 Annually
This recruitment will supplement an existing eligibility list for the Management Analyst I, which will expire on 10/3/2025. This list may fill future vacancies at this and lower-level classifications throughout the City. Note: if you are on an existing Management Analyst I eligibility list, please reapply to demonstrate interest and update your application information. Participating in this recruitment will not extend your eligibility beyond the 10/3/2025 expiration date of the current list.
Your Impact- Manage the City’s safety program including ensuring regulatory compliance with all safety regulations, preventing employee injury, identifying safety improvement opportunities, and reducing department liability.
- Coordinate the City's Safety Committee and assigned activities.
- Monitor, coordinate, and support the City departments’ efforts to maintain a safe and legally compliant workplace.
- Evaluate and audit City training programs, documentation, and hazard control efforts and report findings to departments.
- Develop safety policies and procedures to support the safety program; maintain updated safety manuals and distribute to all department employees.
- Perform professional research and analysis related to managing and improving citywide safety procedures while recommending creative solutions and innovative ideas.
- Inspect City-owned facilities and work processes for potentially unsafe conditions and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments that may include the inspection of safety equipment and recommend replacements.
- Coordinate citywide training programs; coordinate training curriculum with facilitators and vendors; track attendance and evaluate program effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Personnel Management, Human Resources, Public Administration or a related field.
- One year of municipal management experience in a human resources function or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
- May require possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver license.
