Job Location: - The office for this position is located at the Harry S. Truman State Office Building, 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, MO. 65101.
Why you’ll love this position:The System Administrator specialist will be responsible for a wide range of applications and computing systems. They will provide outstanding customer service, technical guidance to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of information systems that support the State of Missouri’s core organizational functions and web sites. The Systems Administrators will assist and mentor those with in the team. An Administrator at this level will be responsible for systems that are far reaching and span across the enterprise, providing leadership and project management for technology upgrades. A System Administrator Specialist must be innovative, well organized, self-motivated, a team player, and enjoy a challenge. This position will provide in-depth technical knowledge and support for business application systems to ensure they are well managed, supported, monitored, upgraded and maintained to provide optimal performance, reliability and availability.
This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Services, State Data Center (SDC).

- Coordinate projects with team members and customers relating to system maintenance, implementation of new systems, or system enhancements.
- Support internal and external users.
- Perform system updates, validate that systems are patched and up to date, and ensure that all systems meet all security standards and requirements.
- Monitor Windows servers for performance issues and stability concerns.
- Responsible to research and evaluate new tools and solutions as requested.
- Responds to emergency situations as needed, during and after normal business hours, to identify, assess and mitigate critical operational issues Self-Motivated/directed to handle multiple tasks and projects with minimal direction.
- Monitor Windows servers for performance issues and stability concerns.
- Troubleshoot system and application issues.
- Schedule and coordinate complex tasks with team members and between teams.
- Take leadership responsibility and solve problems that impact our business needs.
- Other dues as assigned.
- Knowledge of Windows OS.
- Knowledge of Linux OS.
- Knowledge of Network Infrastructure, TCP/IP, and Network Troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Load Balancers, Reverse Proxies.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong communication and analytical skills (written & verbal).
- The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time.
- The ability to communicate effectively with colleges and customers.
- Self-motivated/directed to handle multiple tasks and projects with minimal direction.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to new technologies.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and work demands.
- Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills.
- Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.

Salary:
$53,578.14-$64,293.80 per Year
