Job Location: This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101.
Why you’ll love this position: The Food and Nutrition Services Section administers the USDA Food Distribution Program and the following USDA Child Nutrition Programs: National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program, Special Milk Program, and the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. Under the NSLP, the After School Snack Program and Seamless Summer Option are also available. The programs are operated in public, non-public, and residential child care institutions. The goal of the Food and Nutrition Services Section is to providing safe food and technical assistance to ensure well balanced nutritious meals are served to the students of Missouri.
• Review section correspondence/documents to ensure complete and correct.
• Route documents to appropriate person or sections for processing or for review and signature.
• Plan and coordinate clerical and administrative functions of the section.
• Assist Coordinator in sending request for travel or in/out of office schedules for the FNS section.
• Assist with analyzing monthly meal participation reports to compile statistical data in excel and post on web.
• Assist Program Managers to obtain the new LEA permanent application agreements and policy statements.
• Tracking and compiling SB583 (MO HealthNet Forms).
• Monitor email in Food and Nutrition Services section web reply and disseminate to appropriate person.
• Assist with reviewing and updating Program handbooks and manuals.
• Responsible for proof reading letters as needed and collaborating with DESE Communications Department for accessibility compliance.
• Provide updates to the section website and perform web maintenance as needed.
• Manage gathering program information and reminders to create a monthly newsletter for program participants using web-based system.
• Create, organize and analyze survey monkey request and results.
• Assist Finance Manager with coding and processing employee expense reimbursement reports.
• Assist Finance Manager in creating, filing and processing Department Purchase Request (DPR).
• Track, maintain and assist Finance Manager with program invoices from vendors.
• Assists with annual workshops conducted by section.
• Perform other related work as assigned.
• Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.

Minimum Qualifications - Graduation from high school or high school equivalency through which knowledge of English grammar and punctuation, basic typing or keyboarding, and basic mathematics may have been acquired.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in progressively responsible administrative assistant duties.
