The Recreation & Senior Services Department is currently looking for one full-time Recreation Supervisor to join the Youth & Adult Sports Programs team. This position coordinates the city-staffed after-school programs, preschool programs, summer day camps, and Mayor’s Youth Council. This position also oversees the city’s playgrounds. The selected candidate must be able to perform high level staff coordination and project management.

Schedule:
This position is able to work a flexible schedule (e.g. 5/40, 9/80, or 4/10).

The City offers an excellent benefit package and membership in the California Public Employees' Retirement Systems (CalPERS). The retirement formula is based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS and the employee is required to contribute 11.5% of pay towards the retirement benefit.

Experience & Education and License/Certificate

A combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: Three years of experience developing programs and activities OR two years working directly with a public recreation agency or program. Two years experience supervising staff is also required.

Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation administration, human services and development, public administration, natural sciences, or a related field.

License/Certificate: Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.
