Description
What You'll Be DoingThe Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection/Sexually Transmitted Disease/Hepatitis C (HIV/STD/Hep C) Community Outreach Program has been recognized as one of the most outstanding and innovative programs across North Carolina. The HIV/STD/ Hep C Community Program is a unique integrated team whose efforts are focusing on the prevention of HIV/STD in Wake County.
The HIV/STD/Hep C Community Outreach Team is seeking a
Nurse Supervisor to join this dynamic team and make an immediate impact in the community! This position will provide direct nursing supervision to HIV/STD Community Program Nurses that care for physical assessment and linkage to care in the WCHHS HIV/STD Community Program including clinic and community sites.
As the Nurse Supervisor you'll:
- Provide training and oversight to community HIV/STD nurses and HIV/STD counselors and tester's (CMA) as well as sign authority of Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) competencies and HIV/STD Program Nurses
- Providing technical support and training to community members and professionals on HIV/STD prevention and harm reduction strategies
- Provide direct services for clients needing STD care, wound care, and link to other providers if more intensive treatment is needed
- Provide confidentiality, sensitivity, and cultural competency, which respect the client's race, culture, beliefs, sexual orientation, age and gender
- Establish and maintain protocols and workflows for nursing assessment, health care and the referral process for linkages to STD/HIV, harm reduction and behavioral health/substance abuse care
- Performs ongoing evaluation of services and make necessary modifications when appropriate
- Consultation, teaching and evaluating those who perform or are preparing to perform direct or indirect health care such as screening, testing and linkages to care
- Assure the collection and reporting of data on patients’ medical needs, care, and outcomes

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Two years of experience as a nurse
- North Carolina Board of Nursing Licensed Registered Nurse
- CPR
- AED
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Basic knowledge of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection/Sexually Transmitted Diseases (HIV/STD)
- Basic knowledge of community partner engagement and resources
- Confident in working with at-risk and diverse populations
- At least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Supervisor

Hiring Range: 31.78-42.90
Market Range: 31.78 - 54.03
