This is a high-paced position within the Fiscal Unit of the State Public Health Laboratory. This position will oversee a revenues and payables team with very high volume. The laboratory operates a unique, business-like fiscal unit that oversees not only governmental budget management and scientific/technical procurement, but also manages laboratory fee-for-service claims, fee projection and cash management. This position will also be vital to the implementation from SAMII to MOVERS.

What you’ll do:

• Management and supervision of the Processing team (Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash management, Medicaid Claims submission) the Grants and Contracts Team and the Project Coordinator position.
• Payroll responsibilities, to include overseeing the payroll projection spreadsheets, analyze each pay period for funding updates, LDPR updates, FAIT entries, etc. Work closely with the CFO on all payroll updates needed and provide analysis on all payroll updates needed twice monthly.
• Prepare for review the annual cost report that computes the cost per test and total costs to do business at the laboratory
• Monitor legislation for fiscal impact to the laboratory
• Assist in the preparation of budget forms/requests
• Monitor budget loads and recommend necessary actions to optimize use of appropriations
• Integral member of the SAMII/MOVERS transition team for the laboratory
• Act as assistant to the Chief Financial Officer as needed and in their absence

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
