Responsible for the administration and facilitation of religious and spiritual programming in a correctional setting
Coordinating religious programming
Providing spiritual care and resources for inmates regardless of their faith tradition
Recruiting and supervising religious volunteers for all fully accommodated faith groups
Administering over the chapel office
Good administrative, planning and counseling skills are required.
Minimum Qualifications: Four or more years of experience in managing religious programming.
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted on a year for year basis for a maximum of two years of the required experience at a rate of 30 earned credit hours for one year)
Preferred Qualifications/Skills: Prior chaplaincy/counseling experience, prison/jail ministry experience, inter-faith work, and Clinical Pastoral Education (C.P.E.) training are desirable.
All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.
The Department of Corrections currently offers a guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years!
