NHS Senior Program Specialist
Description
Full-time position available with the Housing and Community Development Department, KC Housing Trust Fund Division, located at 414 E 12th St.
Salary Range: $5,173-$7,759/month
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (Episodic telework)

Responsibilities
- Supervises, directs, and coordinates assigned Housing Trust and Central City Economic Development projects and programs
- Supervises staff involvement with stakeholders to include but not limited to councilmembers, board members, citizens, subrecipients, and contractor
- Directs and reports daily fiscal operations and funding allocations of assigned programs, projects, and/or funds in compliance with funding agency guidelines
- Serves on, or supervises subordinate staff involvement in multi-discipline teams, assigned specific housing and community development, neighborhood preservation, and neighborhood services tasks
- Advises and assists subordinate staff in resolving difficult assignments, reviewing objectives, methodologies, and results of assigned projects
- Assists in preparing and reviewing requests for the departmental budget, interviewing perspective employees, training new employees, and collaborating in establishing departmental policies and procedures
- Performs independent analysis, program development research, providing recommendations, and preparing corresponding staff reports for presentation at public meetings
- Performs related duties as required by the scope of the role
Qualifications
REQUIRES an
accredited Bachelor's degree and 5 (OR an accredited Master's degree in the mentioned fields and 3) years of related progressively responsible professional experience in housing and community development, neighborhood preservation or neighborhood services; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
