This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, and will report to Knob Noster State Park , 873 SE 10 Road, Knob Noster, MO 65336. Primary work duties will be assisting with maintenance on the west section of Katy Trail State Park, which goes from Clinton to west of the Pilot Grove trailhead, and the west section of the Rock Island Trail . This position typically works Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. Shifts may vary occasionally with the time of year and to meet the needs of the facility.

• Responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, natural resource stewardship, and repair of state buildings and facilities. Work area includes Katy Trail State Park and Rock Island Trail State Park.
• Work in a variety of trade areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete and masonry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities and grounds.
• Routine cleaning of park buildings, restrooms, campsites, and park/historic site grounds.
• Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license to operate and maintain licensed vehicles, as well as tractors, mowers, skid steer, and other grounds related equipment.
• Operate and maintain lawn mowers, tractors, skid loader, trucks, chainsaws, leaf blowers, and similar mechanical equipment.
• Assist with prescribed burns, wildfire suppression, herbicide application, and other natural or cultural activities as directed with the c ompletion of Level 1 Prescribed Fire training.
• May also oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks.

This position may be required to obtain and maintain a commercial operator’s license (CDL). If required, and if you do not currently possess these license/certifications, you will be given nine months to obtain necessary license/certification.

• Plumbing and Pipefitting : Knowledge of materials, methods, and the appropriate tools to install, maintain, or repair pipelines, pipe systems, and fixtures, including water, air, steam, gas, chemicals, or sewage.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:

• 1-3 years of experience in any of the following trade areas: electrical, plumbing, concrete and masonry, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair.

Salary:

$38,771-$39,036 per Year
