Definition

Under the general direction of the site Principal or designee, the Bilingual/Biliterate Paraprofessional Aide provides support to the instructional program within an assigned classroom with specific responsibility for working with individual and/or small groups of students in a second language; and providing clerical support to teachers and staff. The incumbents in this classification provide the school community with bilingual/biliterate instructional support which directly supports student learning and achievement.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School diploma or equivalent.
AA Degree or completion of 48 college units, or passage of the Paraprofessional Exam.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One (1) year of experience working with children in an organized educational setting, childcare setting, or community youth organization.

LICENSE(S) REQUIRED:

CERTIFICATIONS AND TESTING REQUIRED:


Classified Substitute Rate - $21.40 per hour
On-call as needed


This position is temporary and on call as needed and there is no guarantee of work days and work hours. There is no contract for this position and no benefits are provided.

3. A copy of official college transcripts showing completion of 48 college units or passage of a local assessment test (Paraprofessional Exam*)

The examination process will include screening to ensure applications are complete and meet all minimum qualifications. No additional information will be accepted from applicants once the application has been submitted.

The examination process will include a Spanish Bilingual Skills Test (pass/fail). Those achieving a passing score on the Spanish Bilingual Skills Test will be placed on the Substitute list.
