Description

General

The Civil Rights Specialist will report to the Deputy Director, Office of Civil Rights and provide clerical, administrative, and data support for the San Mateo County Transit District and Caltrain.

Essential Functions & Duties

· Provide clerical, administrative, and data entry support.

· Collect, review and analyze data; prepare reports, charts, budgets and other presentation materials.

· Assemble and organize sections of Federal Transit Administration (FTA) required compliance programs including but not limited to Title VI and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Programs.

· Schedule, coordinate, and maintain calendar appointments.

· Coordinate office and/or departmental operations.

· Prepare quarterly internal EEO reports that analyze employee demographics, utilization, and availability.

· Collaborate with different departments to facilitate translation and interpretation requests.

· Coordinate Employee Resource Group announcements and communications.

· Create project management tools and checklists to assist with FTA compliance monitoring.

· Assist in the analyzation and compilation of Fare Equity Analyses and Service Equity Analyses.

· Assist in data entry into B2Gnow and other compliance software.

· Develop forms and processes to improve efficiency in reporting, requests, and feedback.

· Review survey data to provide recommendations and findings.

· Purchase and keep inventory of supplies and equipment.

· Process invoices and training requests.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision:

Works under the supervision of the Deputy Director, Office of Civil Rights, who establishes goals and objectives and evaluates performance.

Minimum Qualifications

Sufficient education, training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and ability to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Development of the required knowledge and abilities is typically obtained through but not limited to:

· Associate’s degree

· Two years’ experience working in project management

· Familiarity with transportation civil rights compliance and functions

· Proficiency with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook

· Experience developing, analyzing and completing EEO reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Familiarity with B2Gnow software.

· Experience working planning employee events such as Diversity Day or working with Employee Resource Groups
