Definition

Under the direction of the Director of Child Nutrition, the Child Nutrition Specialty Services Supervisor supports the educational process with specific responsibility for planning, organizing, directing, and reviewing the District’s food service operations; plans the Master Menu, especially for students identified with special nutrition needs; monitors analyzes and reports nutrient analysis; and ensures compliance with federal requirements and other regulations pertaining to the District’s nutrition program. The incumbents in this classification provide the school community with meals that meet student’s nutritional requirements which directly support student learning and achievement.

Employment Standards/Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION REQUIRED:
An Associate degree from a nationally approved accredited college or university in food service management, nutrition, or related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Three (3) years of work experience in a large food facility that included volume food handling, preparation, storage, and serving and that included supervisory experience delegating work to employees and providing performance evaluation. Experience in a school food service program at both the elementary and secondary school levels is preferred.
LICENSE(S) REQUIRED:

SALARY SCHEDULE:
Classified Supervisory Salary Range: 6
Work Calendar: 261 Days

Work hours: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

Examination Process

4. A copy of official college transcripts or a copy of the degree earned.

*PC RULES 5.2.1.2 -5.2.1.2 - In-house employees will have first consideration for the position. If less than three rankings qualify for the position, the Personnel Commission will move to outside candidates.

The examination process will include screening to ensure applications are complete and meet all minimum qualifications. No additional information will be accepted from applicants once the application has been submitted. Only the most qualified applicants who pass the minimum qualifications review will be invited to the examination process.


The examination process will include a written exercise (weighted at 40%) Tentative date - Friday, October 4, 2024, and an oral examination (weighted at 60%) - Tentative date - Friday, October 11, 2024. Those applicants achieving a total minimum passing score of 70% on the written exercise and a passing score of 70% on the oral examination will be placed on the Eligibility List. The top three (3) ranks will be forwarded to the hiring authority for final interview and selection.

The Eligibility List is valid for one (1) year from the certified date.
