Position Description The Department of Computer Science at California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites applications for a Tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor (Academic Year) with the appointment starting in Fall 2025.

The Position An assistant professor at the computer science department of CSUDH is to 1) teach various undergraduate and graduate courses offered by the programs on computer science, information technology, computer technology, and cybersecurity, 2) research on related topics to those programs, and 3) advise students and engage in services at department, college, university, and the system levels.
The responsibilities of the tenure-track position include teaching, research, and service. Teaching duties may consist of day, evening, and weekend hours. Additional responsibilities include research and service consistent with the mission of the University, the College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences, and the Department of Computer Science. Published research in support of this goal is expected and is a requirement for tenure and promotion.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
- Applicants must have experience in teaching and working with colleagues from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
- Earned doctorate in Computer Science (or in a closely related discipline with extensive background in Computer Science) is required at the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preference will be given to those with evidence of excellence in teaching and record of published or funded research in mainstream Computer Science, including Cyber Security, Computer Networks, Mobile Computing, Data Sciences, and other mainstream subjects of computer science and technology.
- Candidates with exceptionally strong published or funded research records in other core areas of mainstream Computer Science will be given preference if their teaching expertise meets department's current instructional needs. Industry experience in one or more of the above areas is desirable.

The Department of Computer Science The department offers a B.S. degree program in Computer Science (accredited by ABET), a M.S. degree program in Computer Science, a B.S. degree program in Information Technology, a B.A. degree program in Computer Technology, and a M.S. degree program in Cyber Security. The department has a total of about 1200 majors, and receives strong support from campus administrators, local industry, and national agents.

Additional Information The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $6,221 to $13,224 per month (12 monthly payments per academic year); The anticipated hiring salary is $7,800 to $8,085 per month. This position will be commensurate with experience and current CSUDH faculty salaries in the academic department/discipline. Faculty salaries are subject to budgetary authorization and any California State University System faculty contract increases. Summer research grants, moving expenses, start-up funds, and a reduced teaching load may be available.
