Pretrial Officer

Blue Ridge Court Services is seeking a pretrial officer to be responsible for the investigation and supervision of pretrial defendants referred by the courts of Rockbridge County, Lexington and Buena Vista. Duties include screening and interviewing individuals detained in the Rockbridge Regional Jail for possible referral, preparing pretrial reports for courts, supervising defendants and maintaining files, statistics and reports. This position will be stationed in our Lexington office.

A bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, social work or criminal justice is required. Experience in the criminal justice system is highly desired. Strong computer skills as well as excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.

This is a full time, non-exempt position with a competitive salary and benefits.
