We are seeking an experienced and skilled Prevailing Wage Journeyman Electrician to join our team, focusing on government projects in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of prevailing wage requirements and expertise in electrical installations for public works projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on government-contracted projects, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage regulations.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to plan and execute electrical work.
- Adhere to safety protocols and building codes to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and other trades to ensure project completion within established timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked for prevailing wage reporting.
- Attend training sessions and workshops to stay current on prevailing wage regulations, electrical code updates, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
- Valid California General Electrician Certification and Journeyman Electrician license.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a journeyman electrician, with at least 1 year working on government-contracted projects.
- Thorough understanding of prevailing wage requirements and experience complying with public works project regulations.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
- Must be willing to pass GOVT background check for base clearance.
