Our client is seeking a Lead Superintendent to oversee large-scale public construction projects throughout Northern New Jersey, with a focus on complex ground-up developments. This individual will be responsible for leading field operations, managing project teams, driving schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Client Details Our client is an established and growing general contractor with a strong reputation in the public construction sector. They specialize in delivering large-scale ground-up projects for government, municipal, airports, educational, and institutional clients, while maintaining a commitment to safety, quality, and long-term client partnerships. Description Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion. Manage multiple Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel. Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved. Coordinate all site logistics, trade sequencing, and subcontractor activities. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and safety standards. Lead project meetings with owners, architects, engineers, and public agency representatives. Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents to ensure proper execution. Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and schedule impacts proactively. Ensure adherence to local building codes, public procurement requirements, and regulatory standards. Maintain detailed project documentation, daily reports, and progress updates. Support project closeout activities, punch list completion, and owner turnover. Champion a culture of safety and accountability across all project sites. Profile A successful Public Construction Lead Superintendent should have: 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent within the commercial or public construction industry. Extensive experience leading ground-up public construction projects exceeding $20M in value. Proven success managing schools, municipal buildings, government facilities, healthcare, institutional, or other publicly funded projects. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control. Experience supervising large field teams and coordinating multiple trades simultaneously. Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules. Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations, public-sector compliance requirements, and building codes. OSHA 30 Certification required. Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and construction management software. Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Stable employment history with a demonstrated record of successfully delivering complex projects. Job Offer Competitive base salary of $180,000 - $200,000.
