As Assistant Director of Libraries & Inclusion for Community Outreach, you will guide and elevate Adult Services, Teen Services, Kids & Family, DEI, and Library to You core services-bringing vision, strategy, and purpose to the work that matters most. We’re looking for a leader who is not only passionate about DEI, but who has demonstrated that commitment through meaningful implementation and action. As one of three key leaders reporting to the Chief Libraries & Inclusion Officer, you’ll have the opportunity to influence system-wide priorities, inspire teams, and drive forward inclusive, responsive services for all.

The Division of Libraries & Inclusion supports the mission and vision of Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) by enriching lives and strengthening our community through equitable and free access to information, experiences, and opportunities. Aligned with JCPL’s vision, the division helps create an essential community space for connection, learning, discovery, and creation, where everyone belongs and everyone feels welcome.

The Assistant Director will be accountable for delivering a consistently high-quality customer experience across phone, in person, and digital service channels. The Assistant Director will need to travel to JCPL locations on occasion.

This role also directs implementation of library service strategic initiatives and handles operational details that support implementation of the service and staffing model. The Assistant Director oversees access to system-wide resources, including both physical and digital collections, and is responsible for creating partnerships and relationships in the community through outreach. The Assistant Director has decision-making authority for operational initiatives in the area of Libraries & Inclusion.

Description:

Hiring Range: $87,762.34 - $114,091.04 Annually.
