The Internal Services Department (ISD) plays a major role in supporting all County of Los Angeles departments and commissions. With an annual budget of over $905 million and 2,158 budgeted positions along with over 5,120 contracted workers of varying professions in facilities management, information technology, environmental, administrative, purchasing and contracting. Requirements to Qualify:
Three (3) years of experience, within the past five (5) years, managing an Information Technology division* or large-scale enterprise level projects** at the level***** of Administrative Manager XIII, ISD*** or Senior Information Technology Specialist, ISD**** or higher.

Special Requirement Information:
*Information Technology division is defined as a unit within a public sector organization, or an equivalent division within another organization, that is responsible for managing and supporting technology infrastructure, including servers and networks; developing and maintaining software applications; and providing related services such as helpdesk support, cybersecurity, and systems administration; experience obtained in a non-public sector organization may be considered equivalent provided the scope, complexity, and level of responsibility are substantially comparable to those performed within a public sector Information Technology division.
**Large-scale, enterprise-level projects is defined as a significant complexity, resources, and impact across the organization where these projects often require cross-functional collaboration, substantial budgets, and extended timelines to achieve strategic business objectives.

***Administrative Manager XIII, ISD is defined as managing a division within a Service of the Internal Services Department and is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, communicating, analyzing, and managing resources to achieve organizational objectives and results. Qualifying experience may be obtained in public or private sector organizations, provided the duties performed are substantially equivalent in scope, complexity, level of responsibility.
****Senior Information Technology Specialist is defined as a senior information technology consultant to the executive management of the Internal Services Department providing expert consultative services in specific areas of systems support to executive departmental and customer management or performing the most complex technical work in a specialized field of information technology.
*****At the level of is defined as your job title isn’t exactly the same as the ones listed. What matters is that your experience is at a similar level - meaning your job involves similar responsibilities, requires comparable skills and knowledge, and takes place within a similar organizational structure. Please provide a clear explanation of your experience to demonstrate that it is at the appropriate level.

License:

A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed tocarry out job-related essential functions.
Physical Class:
2 - Light. This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

Assessment Process:

This examination will consist of an evaluation of training and experience based on application information and supplemental questionnaire weighted at 100%. Each candidates' background will be evaluated on the basis of information provided on their County of Los Angeles Employment Application and Supplemental Questionnaire that pertains to the areas of the REQUIREMENTS and DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS to determine the level and scope of the candidate's job preparation for this position.

Applicants who passed the assessment(s) are placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months. Applications will be processed as they are received and added to the list accordingly. We will use this list to fill vacancies in the Internal Services Department as they occur.

No person may compete for this examination more than once every twelve (12) months.
