POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Manager, Fitness Programs, the Fitness Training Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Student Recreation Center’s (SRC) fitness training operations, including personal training and the boxing training program, supervising student assistant employees and part-time personal trainers, managing client intake and trainer-client assignments, ensuring high-quality service delivery, supporting member satisfaction, and providing frontline supervision that directly advances program goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university preferably with a major in sports management, recreation administration, physical education, kinesiology/exercise science, business administration, or a related field.

Experience
Equivalent to two years of professional-level experience in a job-related field preferably managing fitness/wellness programs during which time the applicant has acquired and/or demonstrated the ability to perform the essential duties of the position.

Special Requirements:
Must possess a current nationally recognized or personal training certification (AFAA, ISSA, ACE, NASM, NSCA or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications:
-Experience working as a personal trainer, fitness program development, and/or boxing instruction

Knowledge, Abilities and/or Skills:

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is generally performed both indoors and out occasionally in extreme weather conditions. Depending on the time of year, average temperatures may range from 50 degrees in winter to over 100 degrees in summer. Position requires the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

This position supervises part-time student assistants and part-time non-student hourly employees.

PAY, BENEFITS AND WORK SCHEDULE:

This position is employed through University Student Union (USU). The USU offers an excellent benefits package including Medical, Dental & Vision insurance, Life Insurance, Vacation, Sick Leave, 14 paid Holidays, company sponsored retirement program and more.

The anticipated hiring range will be as follows and is dependent on experience and qualifications:

Hourly: $29.32 - $31.25

Bi-Weekly: $2,346.00 - $2,500.00

Annually: $60,996.00 - $65,000.00

The salary range of the position is as follows:Hourly: Minimum: $29.32 Maximum: $41.70

Bi-Weekly: Minimum: $2,346.00 Maximum: $3,336.00

Annually: Minimum: $60,996 Maximum: $86,736
