The JobThe
Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) is recruiting for an
Innovation and Technology Parts Supervisor*to supervise Equipment Parts Specialists and warehouse operations for the Telecommunications Divisions and ensure the timely availability of parts used to install, repair and maintain electronic and communications systems.
Duties may include analyzing frequency of purchases to determine which parts shall be stocked and which shall be obtained as needed; setting stock levels; developing automated inventory procedures to assist in the capture and analysis of inventory, vendor, and cost data; researching parts catalogs to locate needed parts or assemblies; negotiating with vendors and maintaining vendor and volume data; determining stock obsolescence or surplus, and arranging for disposition; ensuring the completion of cyclical physical inventory; and maintaining automated inventory data.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Pre-Employment Process: Incumbents must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, work history & education check, as well as a job-related physical exam and drug screening.
Physical: Position requires the ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and work above the shoulder; must be able to move and lift up to 75 pounds.
Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.
Availability: Positions are subject to 24-hour call back to support operational emergencies.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future.
Minimum RequirementsCandidate MUST meet the experience requirement in order to qualify.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of experience in ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing electronic parts. Experience must include at least one (1) year serving as a lead worker or supervisor responsible for overseeing staff engaged in the receipt, storage, inventory control, and issuance of electronic parts. Qualifying experience may be obtained concurrently.
Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Basic understanding of electronics equipment
- Purchasing fundamentals
- Experience with SAP software (highly desirable)
