ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This is an unpaid, 80-hour, internship that provides training from senior level Permit Technicians and Planners regarding the permit process in Lewis County.

Under close supervision, the Community Development Intern received training on the permitting process from completeness review through approval of land use permits; and completes other duties as assigned.

The following duties are the fundamental, crucial job duties performed by this position. This is not a comprehensive list of all tasks that may be assigned. Incumbent may be required to perform other duties as assigned and appropriate for the position.



WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is performed in a standard office environment and occasionally in the field when assisting other Planners during onsite reviews; work involves public contact, light physical demands, and frequent use of a personal computer. Work involves occasional exposure to variable weather conditions and uneven terrain.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or G.E.D.; and must be a current student enrolled in an Urban Planning, Regional Planning or closely related program at a community college or university.
