Position DescriptionThis is a responsible professional Position with limited administrative and supervisory duties at the unit level. Specific duties include testing, psychological evaluation, and diagnostic services, as well as counseling assigned patient caseload. This position functions under the supervision of a higher-level licensed psychologist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for higher-level actions and advice.
Major/Essential Functions- Assists the Clements Senior Director in a leadership role and as an administrative and clinical supervisor over assigned MHCs.
- Correct and thorough completion of all types of clinical interviews. Completes all daily documentation by the close of business each day.
- Reports on Inmate Protection Investigation and inmate threats to others to security as instructed by the Safe Prisons Plan.
- Processes cancellations of referrals to the Behavioral Health Facility.
- Assessments are written based upon balanced clinical judgment.
- Effectively prioritizes job duties while maintaining risk management as a priority. Maintains monthly productivity numbers as set by the Behavioral Health Management Team.
- Ensures the overall work productivity of assigned clinicians is at the expected standard as set forth by the Clements Senior Director.
- Ensures all TDCJ Health Services and ACA policies and procedures, as well as the EHR Behavioral Health guides, are followed by each assigned mental health department.
- Attends and represents the assigned Mental Health department in unit and regional meetings, as well as attends assigned trainings as directed by the Clements Senior Director.
- Supports Values-Based Culture of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for themselves and assigned employees.
- Acts as a liaison between assigned outpatient units and the Clements Senior Director.
Required QualificationsMaster's degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university OR Doctoral intern student enrolled in an accredited psychology graduate program with 2 years of experience
